CAPABILITIES
. . . . . . . . . .

Clients in the medical device, aerospace, and commercial industries rely on Accu-Tube for tube manufacturing, engineering expertise, material testing, custom shapes and fabrication, and research & development.

Our in-depth manufacturing capabilities:

Plug and Sink-Drawn Tubing
. . . . . . . . . .

Selecting the correct tube-drawing and manufacturing method is crucial in providing product success. As a leading tube manufacturing specialist, we feature the following tube drawing methods: floating plug, and sink. We create custom sizes, tempers, and finishes, ensuring high levels of precision that deliver successful outcomes.

Straightening Tubes
. . . . . . . . . .

Accu-Tube utilizes rotary straightening, which is the preferred method to process your customized tubes. Depending on wall thickness and temper, we’re equipped to straighten tubes from .020” to .375” diameters. Our experienced team and processes eliminate the many concerns about the stressing of materials throughout the straightening process. Our process provides the highest degree of straightness with minimum amount of marking on the outside. Standard straightness of .001” per inch are achievable with most sizes.

Centerless Grinding
. . . . . . . . . .

Accu-Tube is known in the industry for its precision centerless grinding capabilities. Outside diameter tolerances as tight as +/-0.00025″. The centerless grinding process removes the material without using a spindle and conforms the material to the desired OD. This process is a delicate balancing act of ensuring that the grinding wheels, the work blade, and tube stock all align to meet exact engineering tolerances for product success.

Swaging and Flaring
. . . . . . . . . .

At Accu-Tube, our experienced team of knowledgeable toolmakers designs and builds all tooling in-house to meet the different swaging (tube-end-reducing) and flaring (tube-end expansion) requirements that deliver intricate forms to our precision stainless steel tubing. From prototyping to production, we work with you in making your concept a reality.

Forming
. . . . . . . . . .

Forming techniques for precision stainless steel tubing require a specific skill set and an in-depth understanding of the materials’ hardening characteristics, which could require higher rigidity of the tools and machinery requirements in the forming process. Several tube-bending applications exist to get the tube to conform to the designed radius. Some parts might require features and threads other features or characteristics. Our secondary fabrication processes include, but are not limited to, beading, bending, bulging, drawing, end-forming, roll-forming, swaging, flaring, flanging, expanding, pointing, cutting, trimming, deburring, helical-coiling, tube-end-closing, and tube-end-sealing.

Cleaning and Passivation
. . . . . . . . . .

Accu-Tube has industry-standard in-house cleaning capabilities, including removing forming oils, rinsing, and drying long lengths for intricate parts. There are three methods for passivation for stainless steel: nitric acid passivation, citric acid passivation, and electropolishing. All three of these methods are considered acceptable, so we offer all three to our clients. Custom cleaning and passivation processes can be created should a certain part require needs outside of our present cleaning and passivation protocols.
