Strip stock is roll-formed and Tungsten-Inert-Gas (TIG) welded. The weld seam is visible on the outside and inside diameter. The tubing is free of interior lubricants and can be supplied in 3/16", 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" diameters in either coils or straight lengths at minimum cost. Outside diameter tolerances are +/-.005" and wall thicknesses +/-10%.

The "As-Welded" tube is drawn without interior lubricants to provide diameters in the range of .010" - .350". The weld seam on the outside diameter is less visible. Tensile strengths from annealed to over 150,000 pounds per square inch can be achieved.

The "As-Welded" tube is drawn with external and internal dies. The interior is cleaned of all lubricant after drawing. The weld bead on the inside diameter is minimized, resulting in a weld seam that is less visible on the outside and inside diameters. Tensile strengths from annealed to over 150,000 pounds per square inch can be achieved.

This tube was developed by Accu-Tube Corporation to improve the formability of welded and drawn stainless steel tubing. This tubing is ideal for endforming, flaring, flanging, swaging, spinning, etc. Tensile strengths of annealed or 120,000-150,000 pounds per square inch can be achieved.
